Canterlot serves as both our moderator board and a site issues board here on Ponyville. You're more than welcome to interact with our staff, and watch how we discuss and handle certain issues on site.

Can I get an explanation as to why /townhall/ is anonymous? What is the purpose? From my obeservation all it seems to be doing is to make the entire board feel basically like /pol/ which is an extreme detriment to the entire point of the board. Why should I bother arguing with "anons" in the first place? It seems completly pointless. In my experience "anons" are basically just trolls, so why should anyone, including myself, even care?

I'm not a coder so I don't know how hard this would be to implement, but would it be possible to add an option to change the date format next to posts, kind of like we can change between the 12 and 24 hour clocks?

I'm British and I always have to do double-takes during the early days of each month, since we (along with most of Europe) use DD/MM/YY whereas the website uses MM/DD/YY. For example, today is the 7th of June in my time zone, but I keep misreading the date as the 6th of July and getting confused.

I was wondering if there was any conversation about "rebranding" this website. Other pony imageboards are in the process of rebranding, and getting away from the pony references, for several reasons.

Would this board ever consider them?

Ponychan did it first, so we'd kind of be ripping off that idea.

But honestly, Moony gets to make the calls as it's on his paycheck, I think. Which is a pretty huge deal that I shouldn't take for granted.

I'd still be saddened to see the pony branding go, even if it wouldn't be relevant anymore. For sentimental reasons.

A'ight, if Ponychans /site/ won't help me with this issue (though probably better off asking on /oat/ or any of their other boards), I'll ask here.

So, I know how to clear cookies on Firefox. I also know how to clear cookies automatically while putting the few sites I like as an acception. Ponyville.us and Ponychan for example are on that exception list and should keep my username, theme and prefered settings.

But it don't.

Whenever I close down the browser and open Ponychan and Ponyville in new Firefox window it resets and forgets on me. While I usually keep these windows open in the background I still have to switch off my computer, so logging in and finding these sites have forgotten me is a hassle as I have to set by theme and put in my username every time I want to comment.

Anyway fix for this?

Eh, I think that's too harsh. I have some quibbles about some things that the site staff do (including this recent episode on /townhall/), but overall I think they do a great job. The site staff here are much better than the Reddit admins and a lot of subreddit mods. On some subreddits, the mods ban people simply for disagreeing with them.

Some people really like to RP that they are being oppressed by the sanctimonious, power tripping mods instead of accepting that sometimes they are just biased heavily towards themselves and only have a fraction of the total picture. The fact you are allowed to freely spit in the face of a mod and have no action taken against you would tell a wise person where the bulk of the power actually lies here.
