https://ponyville.us/pony/res/1063338.html#q1063338I am not allowed to post a goddam Ya-Hoo when the electorate replaces a raving madman with a human being?
It is NOT /pol/ to say i am fucking grateful that decendants of slaves love this country enough to stand up for their rights. And mine.
A discussion can take a little Cubans-voted-against-socialism razzing from Boat, who wasn't wrong: its important to understand the difference between socialism and totalitarianism, by stating an example how victims vote for their own oppression because of a misapplied label.
Pretty sure slapping down multiple threads celebrating democracy constitutes egregious lack of free speech. Which is the opposite of what this Moony-owned site is about.
We're not enemies here. Lets stop treating us like we can't act like it, shall we, Big Brother?

I broke no rules. You are outrageously over the line and you will STOP NOW little sister.
Saying my topic violates "political" rules here is like saying that since solar power was an election issue then we can't post the Sun anymore. It makes no sense.
We have a new President. I have a right to discuss that with my friends here without the alt-right abusing mod privileges to defend their failed candidate.

There is celebration, lp, and there are threads in which celebration is occurring, i think, on pony.
i offered to sticky a political thread, and the overwhelming consensus was no.
Ponyville decides for itself, and the decision it made in the past, and continues to make is that there is no place for politics on /pony/
Politics, not just in the overt discussion of such, but in the baiting, unintentionally or otherwise, of said politics.
We have... users whose political views may not coincide with everyone else's views on the site, and they can, perhaps rightfully, be a bit touchy, being a minority perspective and all here.
Regardless of your feelings of President Trump, or your political stance, the tone of your thread was going to cause some political fighting, lp.
And that conflict is what the rules, as dictated by the users, are trying to avoid.
Be happy, and express that happiness. But keep in mind what your posts will bring forth, too.
That the very first response to your thread was a highly charged political comment is indicative of the thread's direction: a highly toxic thread. We have locked, over the course of the past year, many a thread of this nature and users tend to think we are too lenient with politics, as opposed to being too strict.
i apologize if my thoughts seem scattered; i am tired.
To be clear, lp, it is not a matter of blame: we gave the thread the benefit of the doubt, but it immediately went political, and so the thread was locked. And the user's mandate, to us, is that they really, really don't want to see politics...
i think, in that regard, luna's choice was the safest.

would you have honestly stood by that?
It would have been bait with tons of reports and people getting banned on BOTH sides of the fence.
Also, if you feel like actual partying, take your mask and keep your distance.
You don't want your neighbourhood to be eaten by Covid like we are.

And there is a lot to argue about, i am sure.
But not on /pony/, and not here. Townhall is where that belongs, by design, and by user mandate.

>>6913>>6915These aren't "political" disagreements, though. A political disagreement would be something like whether or not taxes should be raised for the wealthy. I'm talking about the people who's views go against the site's purported values. This site is pro-LGBT, yet it's going out of it's way to cater to people who want to limit LGBT people's rights. This site is pro-inclusivity, yet it's going out of it's way to cater to people who are bigoted.
If the site wants to keep out political discussions, that's fine. But it should be able to agree on what is and isn't a virtue it wants to hold. Is it for inclusivity? Then it should reject racism and bigotry and those who promote it.

>>6916>>6917JUST. BAN. HIM.
It is crystal clear Manley won't change. He has been like this forever, and he won't change. You can nag him, you can warn him, but he will not budge or change his attitude. Manley is the one thing that needs to leave this place, as he simply does not work.
Isn't he the one user you have to constantly monitor all of the time? Why continue bothering with him? Stop giving him any more chances and ban him permanently. Stop bothering and do something about it.

>>6911I want to respond to this before i read it too close or think too much.
My position is that the election is a current event and that Manley's thread was wholesome.
That my own was inflammatory was my own rotten thinking and my apology to Manley for shitting on his cause where i meant to support it.
I fucking suck. I know damn well that hurtful accusation was unfair to Addy personally and it was a shameful rules violation.
Moons, its the reality i found here that let me see everything that happened in this election without being shocked that so many people here really dont follow the melting-pot bleeding-heart lies i believed since i cant remember. I owe this site a debt of gratitude for that even though i have never been very gracious about it.
There is no excuse for my conduct. I should be sanctioned but a genuinely constructive unifying thread about current events like Manleys should not be preemptively struck down before at least those of us who cant keep our cool at least get a chance to behave ourselves first.
At any rate im real sorry to !!Luna who did not deserve that. And Manley and you, Moons. I dunno why i didnt notice i was being such a dick. Im really bent up over the reality check im living the last couple decades and i dunno wtf anymore if i ever did. I guess please everyone get a chance to respind then lock this debacle if that sounds ok.

>>6928I never said Joe Biden was perfect, or that he's never said anything racially problematic. He's an old white man in his 70s. Attitudes change over time as do people.
But to claim that Biden's past mistakes are equivalent to Trump's consistent and recent history of racism and race-baiting indicates to me that either you do not understand the severity and extent of Trump's racism or you are fucking with me. No politician is perfect, but make no mistake. Black people can tell the difference and that is why they voted overwhelmingly for Biden over Trump.

>>6930I don't deny that Trump is significantly worse than Biden in regards to inflaming racial tensions. But just as you forgive Biden's minor imperfections in regards to racial things, others may forgive Trump's more severe imperfections. There are other things at stake in the election besides racial issues, and some people may think that Trump is better in regards to those issues and they may weigh the issues in such a way that Trump overall looks better than his opponent. (For the record, I voted for Biden in this election, but it was a difficult decision, and I was undecided until the very end of October.)
