i imagine maybe, many of us are feeling the same way, so i thought... perhaps, it can be a good idea to have a thread to express our concerns and fears and comfort one another.

We're the ones who survived. You know the alumni from the brownie community includes a few domestic terrorists and countless criminals. Sure, some people went on to live normal lives but they don't provide interesting enough stories. But really, some of the people that came out of the fandom were wild as fuck.

Being scared only limits your options.
You're going to have to deal with the future one way or the other (unless annihilation) so it's better to be flexible and roll with it.
Be alert and have some foresight sure, but don't let it paralyze you.
There's still good things too and you'll miss them if you hide.

>>1188280From a certain level, it's all you can do.
When you face adversity, you still need to go on and do your thing if you want to survive.
But also, I do think that it's important to vent distress as well. Just letting yourself get punched all of the time does you no good either.
Spread the news and hope that if a lot of people are discontent, some revolution can take place.

>>1188318I feel like a lot of discontentment for some people comes from constantly being bombarded with bad news 24/7 from every corner of the earth.
So like, your life might be pretty good and you could be enjoying it, if not for feeling like something that went down between 2 people 3000 miles away was happening directly to you.
Esp if you're already prone to anxiety or paranoia, it only exacerbates the situation.

>>1188320Why are you so standoffish?
I hardly think that anyone that can afford to spend time posting on a cartoon image board is facing real tragedy and hardship.
You're right, real people are really suffering and pretending people who have food water shelter a bunch of video games a high speed Internet connection, time to chit chat, clean clothes and a safe place to sleep are among them is selfish, imo.
People with much less are a lot less fearful than some rich Westerner with a lot of time on their hands and made up hardships for the sake of wanting a hardship.
So if people aren't going to abandon their comfort and go help in a tangible way, the least they could do is stop complaining and having vapid "empathy" for people they never met and have no intention of helping.
That's just like, my opinion.

>>1188321Not so much, but I know other people here who are. And I think someone stepping in to say "The solution is not to worry about it" might be more than a bit insulting to anyone with actual problems, or
cares about people with problems. But hey, maybe it's not my place to get pissy on their behalf.
Even still, some people could really use just a moment of introspection, even if it requires a bit of harshness. Of course, some of those people will out and out refuse to think about it, because they don't like considering that their advice might actually be harmful.
>>1188322Man, just take a look at this logic. Straight up calling everyone here vapid just to justify their own vapidity. It's the same argument that cheaters use, saying that since everyone cheats, the only way to coexist is to cheat.

>>1188325Oh no, for sure your strategy of stamping down anyone with something positive or hopeful to say is the better approach, i mean, that's obvious, and fear and dread is definitely the way to go.
Also, I know people who are struggling to raise children and find clean water in war torn sqaulor are certainly posting here about cartoons and video games in their free time too, I'm obviously not questioning that.
But also, maybe, you, not everyone, you have a very privileged perspective and a super spoiled view of what hardship actually is.
Anyway, thanks for reminding me why i unplugged in the first place.
I was just passing through.

Syndicate always runs out. Otherwise we'd all be retired. I only ever buy a small share and they buy bulk tickets with people theoretically getting a share of payouts based on their buy in. Usually if only $100 or so is won they just re buy tickets.

I hate the UK I hate the UK I hate the UK I hate the UK I hate the UK I hate the UK I hate the United fucking Kingdom and every single person who runs it.
They're traitors. Sadists. They preach democracy but their democracy is rigged. They preach liberty and respect but only for those they think worthy. They oppress the innocent and the guilty profit by it. Pigs in the masks of sheep, and all are taken in and enthralled because of that 'stiff upper lip' they so love to laud, that served everyone so well against those Horrible Nazis, whose ilk now take up space unchallenged in their hallowed chambers of democracy.
It's all a sham. All of it. We're 'free', but we're not really 'free', are we? Because we'll never be rich. Because respect is an uphill struggle. Because we are worker bees, born to serve the hive that is the economy and then die without so much as a 'thank you'.
And that's for the fortunate. That's for the neurotypicals, the straights, the cis, the whites, the men. Dividing lines upon dividing lines, dividing us against ourselves so that we can never stand against the order they force upon us.
Disrespect and intolerance and greed - all that remains of a long-dead empire, inbred in its own conceit. A people without backbone under a tyranny without respite, duration indefinite.

>>1189026I am actually part of a startup company but that's a different story.
Oof yeah I feel that. I could whinge for ages about that. So I won't. I should probably be more grateful or what I have but like. Damn does work, life, relationships and stuff feel like a lot of work for little return. But what can you do but press on... I know from experience no one's gonna give me a break of I break down and cry. Going on snowboarding, climbing and other adventure trips is basically how I stop myself from going postal.
Cat skiing is probably one of the best things I've ever done. Yeah get to go out to places where no one else has skiied or rode. Got to ride through like chest deep powder with no one around for many miles. I can't recommend enough.
Splitboarding is more a means to an end. The snowboarding part is the same. It allows you to split the board in half to go up mountains by where there's no lifts or anything, so you can get away from everyone and go adventuring through the backcountry. Being off resort like that you gotta have avalanche safety equipment. I've just rented it before but I'll probably buy a avalanche beacon for my next trip.
