So, has anyone ever had a favourite pet by proxy?

Like, you're hanging out with your girl/boy friend, or platonic friend, or maybe an uncle or coworker or neighbor or something

and you just vibe really well with their dog/cat/bunny.

My friend's former girlfriend had a little Chihuahua I got along with pretty well, all things considered.

I once babysat her for about a week where she just lived at my place. Whenever I was lying down on my couch with my laptop in my, well, lap, she liked to jump up and curl into the little "nest" on my chest between my arms.
